Welcome to Surf/Break, a retro surfing-themed cottage just renovated with brand new floors, furniture, and artwork in 2022. The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is located just 528 feet from the beach and 0.40 miles from the sound. The spacious deck is nestled in the Maritime Forest and features an outdoor shower for post-beach rinsing. Enjoy the convenience of gated beach parking that grants handicap access and additional outdoor showers, just 200 steps from the front door. Renting Surf/Break, you will have access to three private boat ramps (with parking), a kayak launch, a pier, a dock, basketball courts, a covered picnic area, park grills, a playground, and a sunset viewing area that is to die for! Flex space in the home allows for a separate area to play games or have a workspace separate from the main living room.


Located in the secluded town of Pine Knoll Shores, the home features easy access to all the action at Atlantic Beach, Morehead City and Historic Beaufort. Several restaurants and a grocery store (Food Lion) are a quick five-minute drive from Surf/Break.


Renters will have access to five parks with ocean and sound front water views (Hammer Park https://www.piksco.com/hammer-park , Garner Park https://www.piksco.com/garner-park, McNeil Park https://www.piksco.com/mcneil-park , Brock Basin and Ocean Park). Garner Park, McNeil Park, and Brock Basin each have a boat ramp with parking.


Total bedding includes one king, one queen, one twin, and a twin bunk.


Linens and towels are provided for weekly stays only. 


Rents weekly from Sunday to Sunday. Nightly rentals are allowed with a 2-night minimum during the off-season and for last minute bookings only. 


Pets allowed (2 dogs max, no cats).

A couple of rainy days did not ruin our stay in your lovely cottage. The puzzles games and DVDs kept us entertained. We had a few sunny days and really appreciated the close proximity to the beach and the private beach access. The retro vibe of your place is so much fun. Each day we discovered a cool new detail. The kitchen is well stocked, which as a cook, I enjoyed. One of my favorite things was the incredible outdoor shower. So nice! Thank you for sharing your special place with us! We can’t wait to come back!

The Lees
We loved Surf/Break! The decor was so fun, and we discovered a new little surprise every day, pictures, little wall hooks, the door knockers?Loved it all! We particularly loved the access to the private beach so close to the house and think that gives Surf/Break an extra special bonus for guests. I really can't think of anything we needed but couldn't find while here! We loved the Saturday morning Farmer's Market in Beaufort.

Do I have enough room to tell you everything I loved about Surf/Break? There's a lot! Our group was two couples and two kids, and we fit perfectly since the house has a King room, Queen room and then a room with a bunk bed plus a twin. This house has everything you could want in a beach house - easy access to the water, a large outdoor shower, and a Food Lion 4 minutes away. The house is recently renovated and has a great surfing theme. There is a large deck, enclosed with gates, perfect for containing small kids and dogs.Now for the area - there is a lot close by in addition to Atlantic Beach - an aquarium, parks with basketball courts and fishing access, mini-golf, Fort Macon, Cape Lookout National Seashore...plus the nearby Historic towns are charming too! Morehead City and Beaufort are both worth a visit and had lots of enticing shops and restaurants. Speaking of food - two tips - No Name Pizza and Amos Mosquito's were both really delicious. We look forward to our next visit to Surf/Break!

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming beach cottage! It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower and spacious deck. The house is on a quiet lot with plenty of privacy. The location is very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The private beach access is just a short walk away and there is also a parking lot there if you wanted to drive over. We took the bridge over to Beaufort for shopping and a ferry ride to Shackleford Banks. We also enjoyed several nearby restaurants. We will definitely be back!

We've been visiting the North Carolina beaches over 45 years and have gotten to know a lot of the area and many beach houses. We had never been to Pine Knoll Shores before and decided to give it a shot over Spring Break. It was a great trip and a fun area with a lot to do, even if it was still a bit early in the season for swimming. Before we arrived, we thought the house might be a bit tight for the six of us plus two dogs, but it fit all of us very comfortably, we never felt crowded. It has a great enclosed deck where we could leave our dogs outside without worrying. It's a short walk to the beach and sound, which both have great sitting, picnic areas. I would definitely rent Surf/Break again and look forward to a future visit.

This cottage is in a perfect location for rest, relaxation, and adventures at the beach. Our family enjoyed the proximity to the beach and sound. The private parking lot worked nicely for transporting the grandparents beachside. Our family loved the nostalgic feeling of this cottage. The open floor plan of the kitchen, dining, and living room worked very well in keeping our family entertained. The deck is large enough for the whole family to enjoy. Having the outdoor shower was very convenient after coming in from the beach or fishing from the dock on the sound. We will definitely come back to Surf/Break!
