The Olde Beaufort Farmers’ Market is open for business! Every Saturday morning from 9:00 until 1:00 the courthouse grounds are filled with friendly farmers offering beautiful, locally grown veggies, meats, eggs, honey, and other farm products, and bakers’ tents are filled with delectable desserts, bread, muffins, and ready-to-eat dishes. A bevy of talented artisans offer a diverse range of work including pottery, jewelry, soap, candles, paintings, and many other quality creations. Interested in a historical diving adventure? Dive Educators is heading to Morehead City, NC to dive The Graveyard of the Atlantic with Olympus Dive Center. The Graveyard of the Atlantic gets its name from the estimated 2000 shipwrecks scattered along the North Carolina coastline. Voted #1 Wreck Diving in North America by Scuba Diving magazine’s 2007 Readers’ Poll, many of these historic vessels are accessible to divers. Request more info at info@olympusdiving.com


BOAT-IN-A-DAY COURSE

June 9 & June 19 – 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Each participating team assembles a prepared kit for a small flat-bottomed plywood boat suitable for paddling. The boat is 12’ long, 32” wide, and weighs about 40 lbs. Each boat will be completed to a watertight condition and ready to take home for paint or varnish. Teams are limited to a maximum of 4 persons, at least one of whom must be an adult. KAYAK THE SALTMARSH

June 14 – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Learn about the benefits of salt marshes while on the water. Basic kayak instruction and safety lessons onshore are followed by a relaxing paddle through a salt marsh. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants must know how to swim; some kayak experience is recommended. $30 ($20 with own kayak). Pre-Registration required by 2 p.m. day prior.
