Beach Nourishment Project
The Hurricane Florence Beach Nourishment Project is underway and going strong. Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company was awarded the dredging contract for Winter/Spring 2019 along Bogue Banks. The project focuses mainly on the central parts of Indian Beach and Eastern Emerald Isle.

In a recent poll from USA Today’s 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards – Emerald Isle was voted best beach in North Carolina. This is a great achievement and recognizes the beauty and serenity that our coastal town offers.
