Carolina Kite Festival | October 29, 2022 – October 30, 2022

The Carolina Kite Festival, held in Atlantic Beach each year, is hosted over several days, with nighttime events on Saturday. This is a perfect “lazy day” event, where you can pack a lunch and a blanket and picnic in the sand with floating entertainment, music, and children’s events, like building your own kite.

The Carolina Kite Festival takes place at 1400 E Fort Macon Rd, Atlantic Beach, NC, from 10 AM until 4 PM on Saturday, October 29th, and Sunday, October 30th. See over 100 kites flying through the sky. The event is free to the public and fun for all ages!

Get your kite locally from Kitty Hawk Kites in Atlantic Beach. They have kites for all age groups and levels, from easy-to-fly kites to specialty kites to giant kites. Another great option to pick up your gear is from Kites Unlimited and Bird Stuff in Atlantic Beach offering a variety of custom locally designed and manufactured kites.

We were not quite prepared to be on the beach, but we did have a baby diaper bag, complete with a changing table pad to sit on, so we did. I also had snacks for the baby and plenty of wipes to rid him of the one million and one grains of sand he collected in such a short time frame. But clearly, he enjoyed himself, so all is well. We highly recommend this event to people of all ages!
