Bluewater's Breast Cancer Survivors

Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we wanted to take the opportunity to pamper the survivors in our company.

With a little help from our fabulous friends at the locally lady-owned clothing boutique Sarah Kate Boutique, we decided to doll these ladies up and give them a photoshoot they’d never forget, at the Alex Moore House.

Celebrating Our Survivors

Pegi Davis, a Broker/REALTOR here at Bluewater Emerald Isle Real Estate office, is celebrating being a 25-year survivor this year! Andrea Wiley works in our Annual Rentals Department and battled her Breast Cancer while continuing to work extremely hard and is celebrating her second year as a Breast Cancer Survivor! Both ladies fought hard to beat Breast Cancer, as well as Sandra Goodman celebrating 17 years of being cancer-free, Julie Perry and Linda Strickland are also Breast Cancer Survivors, but, unfortunately, had prior commitments for the photoshoot.

Take a look at these lovely, strong ladies below!

Did You Know?

Did you know: About 1 in 8 women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.

Early detection is key to the treatment. Mammograms are important screening tests that can identify breast cancer up to two years before you or even your doctor can feel a tumor. It’s recommended that women over the age of 40 should have a mammogram once a year, and those with a strong family history should have one, plus an MRI annually starting at the age of 30.

Breast Cancer Survivor Mug

As a token of our appreciation for their fight with Breast Cancer, we gave all the ladies in our company that have conquered the disease these beautiful Rae Dunn “Survivor” mugs. We’re giving away a few of these on our Facebook page as well.
