Ben & Jerry’s has been scooping homemade ice cream since 1978. Ben & Jerry’s began as a homemade ice cream scoop shop in a renovated gas station at the corner of St. Paul and College Streets in downtown Burlington, Vermont, on May 5, 1978. Now, there are over 580 franchised ice cream scoop shops and PartnerShops worldwide. There are over 430 scoop shops in the United States and over 150 scoop shops internationally.
Dairy Queen began over 60 years ago offering just their soft ice cream but has added many more menu items over the years. It now offers ice cream cakes, cones, shakes, blizzards, parfaits, smoothies and more. Dairy Queen also carries food items such as wraps, burgers, fried chicken and fish, sandwiches, and fries.
