Here you can keep up to date with local activities, events and socials for one and all from Swansboro, NC to Emerald Isle, NC to Atlantic Beach, NC to the Coolest Small Town Beaufort, NC. Alive at Five Outdoor Concert 2018

807 Shepard St., Morehead City

Hosted by Downtown Morehead City, Inc., Alive at Five is a free summer concert series the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month during the summer in Downtown Morehead City. Concerts take place at Jaycee Park from 5 PM – 8 PM. The park is located between the Bask Hotel and the waterfront. Free public restrooms are available on site with handicap ramp access. Bring your blankets and chairs! Beverage concessions are available. Limited boat parking is available during the concerts at Jaycee Docks. No coolers or outside beverages permitted.

Grease at Carteret Community Theatre

Here is Rydell’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the sounds of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through “Greased Lightnin'” and more.

General admission seats are $18-$24 in advance, $20-$25 day of show and include NC Sales Tax and Service Fee

Crystal Coast Summer Festival 2018

This Festival features live music, NC local seafood, beverages, street vendors, and beautiful waterfront views! The mission of the festival is to honor our active duty and retired military with proceeds from the event benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.

General admission tickets are available with a $5 suggested donation, VIP tickets and more information are available online at www.CCSummerFest.com. All ages are welcome and families are encouraged to attend. Wear your red, white, and blue to the event and celebrate and honor with us!

Cannon Day at Fort Macon

Beaufort Independence Day Parade

Location: Gallants Channel

Beaufort’s annual Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Gallants Channel. The grounds open at 6 PM, with plenty of free parking. Fireworks start at 9 PM. Bring the family and enjoy hot dogs & soda with net profits going to the Beaufort Fire Department. Beaufort By the Sea Magazine will be providing free watermelon and s’mores, Beaufort Shaved Ice will be at the event as well. Beaufort Development Association will be selling beer & wine. There will be games for kids including corn hole and face painting. Enjoy the sounds of DJ music.

Downtown Morehead City Independence Day Celebration

Date: July 4, 2018

Location: Jaycee Park, 807 Shepard St., Morehead City, NC

The Main Event Band will perform from 7 PM – 10 PM with a free concert in Jaycee Park. The Main Event Band is the ultimate party band performing R&B, Soul, Beach, Country, and Funk and their performances also include music styles from the 80s and 90s as well as your favorite songs of today. At 9 PM, the music fades and the sky explodes with the Morehead City fireworks display. Every year, this spectacular show is shot off from across the water on Sugarloaf Island bringing the audience so close to the action, it is almost like being underneath the burst of light and noise.

Fireworks Cruise on the Crystal Coast Lady

30th Annual Ducks Unlimited Band the Billfish Tournament

Beaufort Parks & Rec Splash Down

Join us at Randolph Johnson Park to celebrate the start of the Randolph Johnson/Water Tower Park Renovation. Park plans will be available to view. Free food, snacks, and activities. The Beaufort Fire Department will be on hand to spray kids (and willing adults) with fire hoses and SPLASH DOWN the heat at 6 PM. 34th Annual RSWSC King Mackerel Tournament

Bogue Sound – Full Moon Paddle 

Date: July 27 & 28, 2018

Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Location: 9404 Coast Guard Rd., Emerald Isle, NC

Nothing can be more beautiful than a full moon rising above the Bogue Sound. There is just something magical about moonbeams and water – and sharing the experience of looking at the moon with someone special, even if that someone special is just you.

Participants arrive early enough in the evening to practice paddling, enjoy a beautiful sunset, and adjust their eyes to the night sky. As the moonlight gets brighter, we will paddle round to enjoy the night sounds. Eventually, we will “raft-up”, and lay back to fully take in our surroundings.

Arrive at 6:30 PM and depart at 7:00 PM. The paddle will last about an hour and a half and kayaks are provided. Couples can each have individual kayaks or a tandem kayak. (Please note with checking out if you prefer tandem). We look forward to seeing you!

Paddle will launch from the sound side boat ramp around the 18 mile marker in Emerald Isle.

Pelican Awards & Taste of the Coast

Kayak the Salt Marsh

Learn about local history and the importance of salt marshes while on the water. Basic instruction and safety lessons followed by a relaxing paddle through a salt marsh. The Atlantic Beach Police Department would once again like to invite all residents and visitors to join them, the Mayor, the Town Council, and the Town Manager to Atlantic Beach’s annual National Night Out celebration. Shackleford Banks Hike: Did Blackbeard See Horses?

Experience Outer Banks heritage and wildlife with a guided hike on Shackleford Banks, part of the Cape Lookout National Seashore. Participants will see an undeveloped barrier island like Blackbeard may have seen. This field trip requires hiking through sandy terrain for long distances. 4th Annual Do It for Drew 5k Color Run

Location: 8102 Emerald Dr., Emerald Isle, NC

Please join in the 4th Annual Do It for Drew 5K Color Run on Emerald Isle. The run begins at 7:30 AM and the route will take you on a scenic tour of the sound side of the island. Along the way you will be dusted with the bright colors that remind us of how bright and  happy Drew Hughes always was, and is in our hearts! Your participation in and support of this event will help The Do It for Drew Foundation save lives and make a positive difference in so many more.

Parking will be along the NC 58 corridor. Strollers are welcome, no pets please (we don’t want the animals startled by the colored powder). Be sure to wear clothing that can be “stained” with the colored powder. If you do not wish to take part in the color, please raise your hand at each color station, with a peace sign and they will try not to get any powder on you.

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Run 5K 2018

Date: August 11, 2018

Time: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Location: Corner of Turner and Front St., Beaufort, NC

This 5K is a fundraiser hosted by and to benefit the Beaufort Pirate Invasion. This event attracts participants of all ages to run, walk, swagger, or jog along the downtown waterfront for this fun and scenic event.
Registration opens at 7:00 AM. Warm up is at 7:30 AM. At 8:00 AM, cannon fire will resonate through Beaufort marking the beginning of the race. Pirates will be located at various course positions along the route  to encourage and cheer participants on.

Prizes and awards will be presented immediately following the race for race winner as well as for the best pirate costumes for individuals and crews. Early registrants will receive a race t-shirt. Strollers and 4-legged friends are welcome.

Registration fee is $30 per participant or $100 for a “crew” of 4. On-site registration will be accepted at 7:00 AM on day of race.

Carteret County Speedway Racing
