Employees Who Give Back: Rob Long

Rob Long, is one of our employees who gives back! Rob, Bluewater’s IT Supervisor, helped raise money for children’s cancer research in September 2022 during National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Rob raised money for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a national childhood cancer research charity that helps fund lifesaving research in the United States. Rob said: “I would like to once again send out my very heartfelt thank you to all of you. Bluewater and a few friends and family helped me raise $2676.00.” Rob not only helped raise money, but he donated all of his hair to support the cause as well. Rob’s hair is being donated to Children With Hair Loss. 

Watch the WNCT 9 news story on “St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event raises money for childhood cancer research,” where Rob is briefly interviewed at the head-shaving event in Kinston, North Carolina. In the video, Rob said: “I’d like to thank everyone I work with at Bluewater because they did 90% of the donations that came to this today, and we raised over $2600.” Rob was the top participant with the highest amount of donations in the Kinston-Lenoir County 9th Annual St. Baldrick’s Event on September 28, 2022.

Rob Long has been a part of the Bluewater family for over 15 years. Thank you, Rob, for your contribution to this important research, and thank you to all Bluewater employees who participated and ultimately helped Rob exceed his donation goal of $1,000!
