Atlantic Beach Welcome Desk

Growing up on the East Coast of North Carolina has been such a blessing.  I have lived in Beaufort, NC since I was born and wouldn’t change it for the world. Whether it’s going by boat or driving over the bridge I go to the beach every chance I get during the summer. I am proud to live in a place that people dream about going on vacation! Being a local I am happy to help provide you with great tips about the area when you check in. Bluewater is such a great company to work for and you will find we are like one big family! It is an awesome feeling to be able to help families plan their perfect vacation and create memories that will last forever!

Growing up in Carteret County, I have gotten to experience all of the wonders of the beach and local communities. I grew up on the mainland in Newport. My fondest memories revolve around the water whether it was going to the beach and watching my brothers surf, walking through the historic sites around the area with my mother or just cruising on the Bogue Sound in the boat fishing and playing on the sand bars. I was introduced at a young age to vacation planning by my mother who still works in the rental market as a property manager. The Crystal Coast has been a huge part of my life and I’m so excited to be able to share my love of our beaches with our guests.

Emerald Isle Welcome Desk

It all started on a blistering summer day; July 28, 1985. The world was blessed with what some people like to call a miracle (Me).  I lived a simple life growing up in the mountains of Western Carolina. I enjoyed exploring the mountains sides with an open mind and living an overall carefree lifestyle.  Upon graduating high school, I got a wild hair and wanted to move away from this place that I had called home for 18 years.  On graduation night I jumped in the first vehicle I could find heading out of town and the next morning we arrived in the upper Outer Banks of North Carolina where I instantly fell for the area because it was new and exciting.  After my friends’ vacation was over they made the trip back to the mountains. I stayed with my backpack full of clothes and no money in my pocket. I borrowed a few bucks from my friends parents and hopped on a ferry were I ended up in a place were few visit and even less live; Cedar Island.

From there I got a ride to Emerald Isle where I started a job as a dishwasher at a local restaurant called Tortugas.  That same night, I met my future wife and mother of my two children. After couch-surfing for the summer, she asked me if I would like to move with her to Boone so she could continue to attend college.  We made this move back and forth across the state a few times before we finally decided to settle here on the coast.  We were both given the opportunity to work for this wonderful company.  I started out as a maintenance tech and decided that I wanted to see if I could climb the ladder.  I moved into the maintenance office and was soon drafted  to help Bluewater start a linen delivery business.  I was lucky enough to be asked to help run that facility. Life was great until one day I was offered the opportunity to work at the welcome desk. This was a completely different pace for me, as I had become accustomed to being in a warehouse and only working with other employees. I’m always up for a new adventure so I made the swap. I like to consider myself a wealth of random knowledge and I feel my drive to provide excellent customer service made me the perfect person for the job. You can find me at the front desk 5 days a week serving light sarcasm with a smile.

I have lived on the Crystal Coast my whole life and I don’t see myself living anywhere else! I love the beaches here because they are quiet, beautiful and very family oriented. I have so many great memories from growing up here and that is something I plan to continue with my family. Being a Vacation Planner is great because I get to assist other families in making the same amazing memories that will last forever. Plus, hearing the excitement in their voices never hurts!

I’ve lived on the Crystal Coast on and off since 2008. I’m originally from Nags Head, NC but I love it here because it’s beautiful, quaint, secluded and less busy than any other beach on the East Coast that I know of! My favorite thing about living here is that I live steps away from the sound and only a block away walk from the ocean that I can go anytime I want. One of the reasons why I like being a part of Bluewater is that they are good to you, and will work with you. You never feel like you do not matter. I choose to be a vacation planner because I enjoy making people happy. Anytime you get to go on vacation, screams happy.

I was born in Austin, Texas and a little over 5 years later my father transferred to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina. My mother is from the Crystal Coast and although I was not born here, North Carolina is my home. I love living on the Crystal Coast because I can go the beach any day of the year. Though it may not be huge, our small town offers warm, southern hospitality year round. I enjoy working at Bluewater because I can help families make the memories I remember so well from growing up here.  Family is one of the most important things in life and spending time with your family stress free can be easily done at the beach.

I moved from Maryland to Swansboro in 1996. I love the peacefulness of the off season. My favorite thing about the Crystal Coast is the quiet family atmosphere that Emerald Isle has coupled with the family owned shops and restaurants. The lovely ladies that I work with and the family atmosphere we have together makes every day fun. I get to work on the beach and at the same time help families make those memories that will last a life time. Win win!

I’ve lived in Eastern North Carolina for over 20 years. I grew up here and think it is the best place to be! I have traveled many places and I know I will always call this area home. I enjoy it here because the beaches are beautiful, the locals are hospitable and the shopping is great. You can relax on the beach, enjoy the nightlife or have fun playing mini golf with the kids; no matter your tastes you will always find something fun to do. I love being a vacation planner because I enjoy knowing that I am helping people plan a vacation and make life long memories with their loved ones.

Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved to the Crystal Coast in 2010! This Pennsylvania girl wanted out of the snowy winters and the long drive to the beach. I now live right outside of  beautiful Emerald Isle and absolutely love it. I love the warm summers but fall on the island is my favorite. The weather is gorgeous and the beaches open up to vehicles for fishing and relaxation. Bluewater has been an amazing company to work for. It is great being a part of a company where everyone matters and makes a difference.

I have lived on the Crystal Coast my entire life and could not imagine moving!  Although I have traveled to other beaches, Emerald Isle will always be home.  It is beautiful here all year around and the perfect place to vacation.  Growing up here, I have made so many memories and now I am fortunate enough to help our guests experience those same things with their family!

Born and raised on the Crystal Coast, I am proud to be a part of the Bluewater team since 2007. Me and my finance are both very fortunate to be working for the same company where we get to ride to work together daily and share the same schedule. This has been a huge blessing to us. The sunsets here are amazing and my absolute favorite is the fresh local seafood. I enjoy taking long adventurous hikes through the Croatan National Forest and spending fun afternoons fishing with my family. I love how there is so much history to learn all the many beautiful sights to see. We are close to everything with endless things to do. This is a place you never get tired of and can come back year after year, making a lifetime of memories.

Growing up in the area and being a resident of Emerald Isle for over 20 years is something that I truly cherish everyday. I especially love the view crossing over our high rise bridge. I can only imagine the thoughts and expressions on the faces of our guest when they get to see that for the first time. Our sunrises and sunsets are some of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen and I hope that our guests feel the same way! It is such a joy to see their excited happy faces when I greet them (and their tail wagging pets) at check-in. I am very greatful to be a part of the Bluewater family and part of the wonderful memories our guest will have for a lifetime.
