DIRECTIONS:
Cross the Atlantic Beach Bridge from Morehead City, NC and turn left onto Fort Macon Road at the main intersection that leads to Fort Macon. From here, go 1.6 miles and turn right on Henderson Drive. From here, the beach is 3/10 of a mile. Once you turn onto Henderson Drive, you will pass some new color-drenched beach homes as well as some old beach cottages with character and history from the 1950s. Oasis at Atlantic Beach is on the right at the oceanfront of the beautiful sparkling waters of Atlantic Beach.
Coming from Emerald Isle, Pine Knoll Shores and Salter Path/Indian Beach on Highway 58, you will go straight across at the intersection to the Oasis at Atlantic Beach.
While you are in Atlantic Beach, you and your family can enjoy a visit to the historic Fort Macon. Fort Macon was built in 1826 and fell to the North during the Civil War in 1862. You can walk in and around the Fort, go to the nearby beach or have an afternoon picnic. Fort Macon State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities and is less than a mile from Oasis at Atlantic Beach.
Also, when you are at the main intersection at Atlantic Beach when you come off the bridge, you are at what is known as the "Circle," where shagging in Atlantic Beach began years ago on this wide boardwalk.
The history of Atlantic Beach begins in the 1880s and is quite colorful. This area of North Carolina's Crystal Coast is a wonderful place to bring your family.
You are also very close to one of the North Carolina aquariums, the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. This location recently underwent renovations and features a 2-story shark tank, among other great exhibits. Come on, the ocean is waiting for you and a new beach home at Oasis at Atlantic Beach is a wonderful way to begin your next family tradition.
