NC AQUARIUM: The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores boasts thousands of aquatic animals and takes you on a journey from North Carolina’s mountains to the sea. This aquarium is truly an immersive experience. Touch a Stingray or a Horseshoe Crab in the Tidal Touch Pool or watch divers feed the fish in the Living Shipwreck which features a 60-foot viewing window. There are always events going on at the aquarium making it easy to find something the whole family will enjoy.

THEODORE ROOSEVELT NATURAL AREA: Take a walk in through this expansive 265-acre nature preserve located next to the North Carolina Aquarium. The Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area offers two distinct trails to choose from. One is approximately a mile long and the other is a shorter trail that loops through the marsh. Donated to the state by the family of the 26th President, this nature preserve attracts naturalists and photographers.

IRON STEAMER PUBLIC ACCESS: The. Iron Steamer Public Access is the perfect spot in Pine Knoll Shores to access the Crystal Coast. This regional, oceanfront area is located just west of the former Iron Steamer fishing pier and includes a bathroom facility perfect for rinsing off after a long day at the beach.

HOFFMAN TRAIL: Hoffman Trail is accessible from inside the Aquarium. This loop forest trail takes approximately 30 minutes to walk at a comfortable pace. Hoffman Trail has a bird blind at East Pond and a floating bridge over a small freshwater pond and a lovely view of Bogue Sound. While on the trail you may see a variety of birds, insects, mammals, lizards, turtles, snakes.

CRYSTAL COAST COUNTRY CLUB: Crystal Coast Country Club is a semi-private country club nestled on the island of Bogue Banks in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina. You don’t have to be a member to enjoy a day on the course or practice at the putting/chipping green. The spectacular views of the sound running alongside the course is unparalleled in this area.
